Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana - Best Teacher Award
Every year, the Aradhana Committee recognizes music teachers in the
North American continent by awarding one teacher the "Best
Teacher" award at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana We choose the
teacher to be given the award from a large pool of nominations that we
receive every year.
To nominate your teacher for the "Best Teacher Award", please
follow the guidelines below:
- Students of Carnatic music residing anywhere in North America
can nominate their teacher for this award. Please send details of
the teacher's qualifications, experience, teaching abilities,
achievements of their students, and any other relevent information
explaining why you consider the teacher to be eligible for the
award.
- Teachers already honored by the Cleveland Aradhana in the past
are not eligible for re-nomination.
- The award is NOT restricted to teachers of vocal music. All
teachers of Carnatic music in North America are eligible.
- The award emphasizes the participation and success of the
nominated teacher's students in the various competitions at the
Aradhana. The number of students learning under the teacher, the
teacher's presence in their local community and the volume of
nominating letters for the teacher are not given any importance.
- Awards will not be given in abstentia. The presence of
the teacher at the Aradhana at least on the day of the award,
March 22
, is a necessary criterion. To
that end, the selected candidate will be informed by at least
March 15 so that he/she can make his/her own travel arrangements
accordingly.
- In order to make a timely decision, and inform the candidates
sufficiently in advance, all nominations must be received by
February 1. Nominations received after that date will not be
considered.
