Pancharathnam

According to tradition, every year, musicians and devotees pay homage to Sri Thyagaraja by rendering his pancharathna krithis, the five jewels.

The group singing is held on Saturday morning of the opening weekend of the Festival. We welcome attendees to join in this group rendition. Both vocalists and instrumentalists (including percussion) are welcome to join.

There is no formal application process to join the group. If you would like to participate, please arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time wearing stage-appropriate attire. You may join the participants on stage at the appropriate time.

The sruthi for the group is G (5 kattai).

We have recordings of all of the pancharathnams for participants to follow along.
