Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana - Individual Singing
Every year, the Aradhana Committee provides a stage for those who wish
to participate in the Festival on a non-competitive basis and for those
who simply want to pay their musical homage to St. Thyagaraja.
The Individual singing commences as soon as the group rendering of the
Pancharatna kritis, and the Bhajans are over. It continues on till the
beginning of the next concert. Usually, there is also a session on Sunday
after the morning concert.
If you would like to participate in the individual singing, please read
the following regulations carefully, and follow the instructions that
appear below:
- Individual singing is restricted to Thyagaraja krithis
only as we feel this is more appropriate to a function of
this nature.
- Please limit your homage to a maximum of strictly 5
minutes and only one kriti. There are
many people who wish to pay their homage to the St. Thyagaraja,
and your co-operation in this regard is essential.
- Please do not sing any Alapana, niraval or
kalpana swaras. This restriction does not apply to
chitta swaras that appear in compositions.
- The Aradhana Committee will not provide any accompanists on
stage. If you wish, you may bring your own accompaniments. No
solos for the accompanists are allowed.
- Due to time restrictions, we can only accomodate a total of 75
people for the individual participation for both the Saturday and
Sunday sessions combined. Slots will be filled on a first-come
first-served basis.
- All applications for registration must be received by
March 7
. Applications received after
that date will not be accepted under any circumstances.
If you agree to follow the above restrictions, please fill out the
online form to submit your entry.
